Is a classic children’s novel published in 1900. It tells the story of Dorothy Gale, a young girl living on a farm in Kansas, who is swept away by a cyclone (tornado) to the magical Land of Oz.
Upon her arrival, her house accidentally lands on and kills the Wicked Witch of the East. To find her way back home, Dorothy is advised to follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City and seek the help of the mysterious Wizard of Oz. Along her journey, she encounters and befriends the Scarecrow, who desires a brain; the Tin Woodman, who longs for a heart; and the Cowardly Lion, who yearns for courage.
Together, they face various challenges and dangers, including the Wicked Witch of the West, as they make their way to the Wizard. The story explores themes of self-discovery, friendship, courage, and the idea that the qualities we seek often lie within ourselves all along.
