The Sufi poet Rumi once said “Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?” Some people think that when the safe sidewalk they had learned to walk on ends and the winds of change come blowing in their direction, only by holding on to their old dreams and the traditions and rules they were raised to obey can they stay true to who they are and live the life they want and deserve. But sometimes, it is not the holding on that saves us but the letting go.
Set in modern day Alexandria, this is a story of four friends who, against the backdrop of their ancient city and the shifting tides in Egypt, must grapple with questions of identity, tradition, freedom, development and change.
