SUMMARY:Interactive reading of The journey
DESCRIPTION:Interactive reading of The journey\nVeronica Salinas\nFriday\, 3 Feb\nDiwan\, Zamalek\n2pm\nAge 4+ \nقراءة تفاعلية لكتاب السفر\nمع المترجمة شرين عبد الوهاب\nالجمعة ٣ فبراير\nالساعة ٢\nديوان الزمالك \nDescription:\nVeronica Salinas tells the story of the picture book “Reisen” while images from the book are projected in the background. She tells the story with humor and seriousness\, and the visit and the conversation become a game around the book’s themes.\nThe children get to experience a duck blowing ashore in a strange place. The duck finds it difficult to be in the new place\, because it does not come into contact with the other animals that already live there. Eventually it makes a friend and learns the foreign language. Then everything goes well\, until the new friend is blown away in a powerful storm. But then the duck has learned how to make friends with strangers.\nThis is a story about identity\, both the one you create through encounters with other people and cultures\, but also about the image you have of yourself. The personal costs of migration\, whether it is self-selected or forced\, and the importance of staying and making oneself.\nAbout the author:\nVeronica Salinas works as researcher and promoter of literature at the Norwegian Children’s Book institute. She is a writer\, actor and playwright. She is a trained actor and linguist from Argentina\, and has a literature education from Norway. Salinas has published several books for children in Norwegian\, and is translated into a number of languages.\nSalinas has worked with promoting literature to readers with disabilities. She has also worked as a teacher of librarian students at the Oslo Met University\, as well as teaching creative writing at the Norwegian Children’s book institute.”
